Lotus Land: Rhode Island Trio to Play RushCon 12
The Rhode Island-based group has honed a remarkably Rush-like sound over the years and has been playing its Rush covers to packed houses up and down the East Coast. The band members are Chris Nelson, Bob Chartrand, and Mark Dalton.
Nelson honed his skills with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Herb Reed and the Platters, and Chartrand and Dalton, playing together in past bands, have shared stages with The Alarm and ELO II, according to RushCon.
“This will not be your run of the mill tribute show!” RushCon says. “We have asked the band to dig deep into their set list to give us a show with rarities and deep tracks . . . . We know this powerhouse of a tribute band will NOT disappoint our audience.”
More from RushCon on the band:
“The music and lyrics of RUSH have long played prominent roles in the lives of Lotus Land band members and crew. Geddy, Neil and Alex have not only inspired the group musically but have also influenced the manner in which they perceive both themselves and the surrounding world. Dedicated to the hard work of replicating, as best they can, the demanding performance level and musical craftsmanship of a live RUSH show, Lotus Land considers it an honor and privilege to bring the music of RUSH to fans new and old.”
All in all, RushCon vetted 11 bands to get to the final three. “It was A VERY HARD contest,” the fine folk at RushCon say. “So many talented bands; we had fans commenting that it was almost impossible to pick the best.”
