Moving Pictures Live 2011

Moving Pictures: Live 2011 (vinyl only)
Roadrunner Records
November 2011
$20.52 (on Amazon)

As part of its Time Machine tour in 2011, Rush performed its 1981 classic album Moving Pictures in its entirety. All the tracks for this live album were recorded at the band’s Cleveland show. For many, the big attraction of this album (along with the Time Machine tour live CD) is “The Camera Eye,” which hadn’t been played live prior to this tour.

4. Limelight
5. The Camera Eye

Review
Moving Pictures Live Straight Through

“I saw Rush live on this tour, so buying this CD was a no-brainer. And since “Moving Pictures” stands as one of my favorite albums of all-time, it was not much of a decision to buy this release. . . Hearing Moving Pictures straight through was phenomenal. The band held true to the original—no detours or changed tempos. It sounds amazing.”—Matthew Hickerson, on Amazon

(Note: This review is for the Time Machine Live CD, but it’s included here because the reviewer talks about the Motion Pictures piece of that tour. Just the reviewer’s remarks about the Motion Pictures portion of the CD are included here.)
