Slaughterhouse: Background

In his book Rush Visions, Bill Banasiewicz interviewed John Rutsey about the band’s early days playing the Toronto bar scene. Among the songs he mentions is “Slaughterhouse,” which John descibes as a piece the band wrote about animal exploitation.

“It was a hard rocker about what was happening to the environment and the animal world. Whale and seal hunts and that sort of thing.”
