Harvard Lampoon’s Musicians of the Millennium Award
In 1993, Rush was the first band in the 117-year history of the Harvard Lampoon to be inducted as honorary members of the magazine.
Mark Twain’s remarks:
“I wanted to thank you boys for putting me on the map. Ever since that little song you wrote, I’m on every college reading list and everyone knows my name and, hell, the T-shirt sales are really going through the roof. Now, about that idea you had about a rock opera based on celebrating the jumping frogs of Calaveras County, I think we should talk about that. I’m not sure.”
